Sewing Classes on Al Reem Island: How to Get to the Studio
When people search for sewing classes near them, what they are really asking is whether getting there every week is realistic. Fair question. Here is the honest answer about where I am.
The studio is on Al Reem Island
Reem sits directly beside the main island, joined to it by bridges, which is the useful part. From the Corniche, from downtown, from Al Maryah, you cross over and you are here. It is a short trip rather than a journey.
From further out, Khalifa City, Al Raha, Yas, Saadiyat, it is a longer run along the highway. Still an ordinary weekday drive, and comfortably doable for a lesson every week or two, but worth knowing before you book rather than after.

Why lessons are in person
I do not teach sewing over video, and I want to be straightforward about why rather than let you find out after paying.
Most of what goes wrong at a machine is physical. The fabric is being fed at the wrong angle. Your hand is pulling instead of guiding. The tension is off by a fraction and the stitch looks fine from above and wrong underneath. On a screen I would be guessing. Sitting beside you, I put a hand on the fabric and the problem is solved in four seconds.
The same applies to fitting. A garment either sits on your shoulders or it does not, and no camera angle settles that argument.
What about home visits
I used to come to students with a machine and everything else needed. Home visits are paused at the moment, so for now the lessons happen in the studio.
That turns out to suit most people better anyway. The studio has proper equipment, room to lay out fabric and cut properly, and a full range of tools within reach, none of which fits in a car.
If you are in Dubai
Honestly, probably not worth it for a weekly lesson.
The drive is over an hour each way on a good day, and a two hour lesson turns into most of an afternoon. People do come from Dubai occasionally for a specific reason, and they are welcome, but I would rather say this out loud than have you discover it on the third trip.
Once you are here
The studio is a room, not a shop counter. Lessons are one student at a time and the space is women only, so there is no reception to wait in and nobody else booked into your slot.
